At The Canine Cottage, we believe your dog deserves more than a kennel—they deserve a home away from home. That's why we've created a safe, comfortable, and loving environment where every guest is treated like family.
Unlike large commercial boarding facilities, we intentionally keep our guest list small so each dog receives personalized attention, daily interaction, and plenty of affection throughout their stay.
Whether your pup enjoys playing outdoors, going for walks, lounging in a cozy spot, or simply being close to people, we strive to provide a stress-free experience tailored to their needs.
Our home-based boarding approach allows dogs to enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere while maintaining the structure and care they're accustomed to at home. We take the time to learn each dog's routine, preferences, and personality so they feel comfortable and secure from the moment they arrive.
We know that leaving your dog in someone else's care is an important decision. As dog owners ourselves, we understand the trust that comes with that responsibility.
Our goal is to provide exceptional care, clear communication, and complete peace of mind while you're away.

Meet 'The Team'
Scott & Alexis
We met in college in Washington, D.C. and have been raising our family in TX since 2014!
We both grew up with dogs and have owned many since getting married in 2011!
Alexis is a chronic animal rescuer and long-time dog foster mom. You can count on her to stop amd look at every lost dog notice and scoop up any and all strays!
Scott works from home full-time, Alexis is a freelance writer and homeschools their 5 children. What does that mean? We are home ALL DAY to love on your dog(s)!
Jon, Henry, Klaire, Cate & Elise
These five love dogs and help take care of not only our two dogs, but our guest dogs as well!
Klaire is our resident dog washer! You can count on Cate to volunteer first to walk any dog and then promptly snuggle up with them in her reading chair.
Henry & Jon are likely to be found playing backyard baseball with tennis balls, much to the delight of our ball-loving guests!
And Elise is always ready to show all the 'new dogs' her Paw Patrol toy dog collection.
Dusty & Micu
Dusty is a 3 year old Golden Retriever and literally the best dog in the whole world. Except for when she steals pepperoni or cheese off the kitchen counter when we aren't looking! She is friends with everyone and a great dog playmate!
Micu (mee-coo) is a 4 year old terrier mix who we fondly call the 'Couch Queen'. She is the most patient terrier I've ever met, letting the little girls treat her like a real life stuffed animal.
Now that the kids are a bit older, we are excited to get back into fostering dogs! Henry is especially hopeful for a dachshund foster ;)
